KFC Twenty20 Big Bash 2011 Win

KFC Twenty (sporttvtoday.blogspot.com - 8 January) South Australia have recorded their first Twenty20 Big Bash win thrashing Victoria by 55 runs at Adelaide Oval after paceman Dan Christian took four wickets to skittle the Bushrangers for 116 with three overs to spare.

SA's spinners also chipped in with valuable wickets to help register victory with import Adil Rashid collecting three.

The Redbacks had posted an impressive 6-171 with the bat, lead by their captain Michael Klinger who finished unbeaten on 76 with four boundaries and two sixes after strong 77-run third wicket stand with Callum Ferguson (30)

West Indian star Kieron Pollard also contributed to the victory, producing another fine unbeaten 34-run cameo, belting two boundaries and two sixes from 19 deliveries to help lift SA's total.

Victoria raced out of the innings break and looked set to mow down SA's total of 171 before they lost an early wicket with Brad Hodge bowled by Shaun Tait for 17.

The Bushrangers lost 2-3 not long after when Matt Wade was dismissed for a single after he was caught at mid-off by Christian as Pollard claimed his first Big Bash wicket to leave the Bushrangers on 2-31.

David Hussey arrived at the crease and made a quick 10 before he was removed in the very next over after a brilliant caught and bowled effort from Christian.
